WWE is reporting that John Cena will be heading to Birmingham, Alabama on Thursday to undergo shoulder surgery. Cena himself has confirmed the news by posting the following on his official Twitter page:
Rather upside down start to 2016 as tomorrow I will head to Birmingham for shoulder surgery. Life's full of set backs but #nevergiveup

— John Cena (@JohnCena) January 7, 2016

Multiple sources are reporting that Cena is suffering from a torn rotator cuff.

Obviously, this surgery means that Cena will not be one of the participants at the upcoming Royal Rumble event this month. Unfortunately, it also means that Cena may also likely miss WrestleMania 32 in Dallas, Texas as well, where it was reported that he would be facing The Undertaker; however, as of this report, there is no word on exactly how long Cena will be out of action.

Prowrestling.in will continue to keep you updated as more information becomes available.

This Saturday night, Oct. 3, the award-winning WWE Network thunders into New York City, presenting an earth-shattering special event, Live from MSG: Lesnar vs. Big Show.

For the first time in more than a decade, The World’s Most Famous Arena will feel the wrath of The Beast Incarnate as Brock Lesnar enters the hallowed halls to compete in an epic clash of titans against Big Show. Can The Conqueror overcome the all-out fury of The World’s Largest Athlete?

In addition, "The Champ is here!" Yes, John Cena returns to MSG to put his United States Title on the line against WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins inside a steel cage! Will The Architect once again make history by dethroning the leader of the Cenation when the two competitors wage war inside the unforgiving structure?
Plus, following the controversial ending to the WWE Tag Team Title Match at Night of Champions, The Dudley Boyz have been granted a championship rematch against The New Day at MSG. Can Bubba Ray & D-Von pick up where they left off and end the obnoxious champions’ reign?
Do not miss a moment of the action, LIVE from MSG, this Saturday at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT, only on WWE Network.

John Cena posted the following on Twitter, reacting to reports that he was injured during last night’s  last night's WWE Live event.
He's not actually injured.

John Cena suffered a broken nose on Monday night's edition of WWE Raw during his successful United States Championship defense against WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins in the show's main event.
During the match, the camera panned in on Cena, visibly showing that his nose was leaning more toward one side of his face. Despite this, Cena was able to continue on and finish the match.
It is not known how severe the injury is at this point, but WrestlingNewsSource.com will continue to keep you informed as more updates are made available.

John Cena was recently interviewed by MTV UK to promote his upcoming movie “Trainwreck”, which opens this Friday. During the interview Cena was asked if he would leave WWE to pursue an acting career in Hollywood.
Cena gave the following response:
“My life is with WWE. And at 38 years old I tell everybody I feel as strong and as good as ever. I think you can check out Monday Night Raw and watch any US Open challenge and my actions speak for themselves. When opportunities like this come up, I’m going to do it for the same reason that Dwayne [Johnson] has done what he’s done.
Him being such a success has just gotten more eyeballs on WWE and that’s my goal. So when opportunities like this come up, I’m going to go for it. But unlike Dwayne I won’t take a sabbatical to do so, I take nothing away from his accomplishments – he is the most successful WWE superstar ever.”

Rumors of Sting appearing at Sunday's WWE Survivor Series PPV:
Legendary WWE Color Commentator Jim Ross

"My Twitter timeline lit up Friday night with the conveniently, timed info/rumor that Sting would make a 'surprise' appearance at Sunday's WWE Survivor Series. I have no idea it that's true or not and I'd have preferred if the info, true or not, would not have leaked out. I'm not a major fan of the 'Jardine's' aka spoilers. I'm a Sting fan from back in the day and believe that if his first and perhaps only match in WWE is at WrestleMania 31. The man has earned a WrestleMania Moment without question."

Who will win the Team Cena vs. Team Authority main event at Survivor Series:

"If forced to make a prediction, I'd go with Team Cena winning the Survivor Series main event Sunday in St. Louis which provides WWE the opportunity to truly set the reset button and create some new scenarios that are due with the build to WM31 beginning to commence. If so, Im curious to see how HHH and Steph are repositioned as WWE needs star power and they provide that more than many of the talents."

Well, this sounds deeply intriguing. Per a recent report, Hulk Hogan has been pushing for a match against John Cena at next year's WrestleMania 31 event.
As Dave Meltzer notes in this week's (subscribers-only)Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the Hall of Famer is keen to work with Cena at the Santa Clara show.
"Hulk Hogan has pushed for a match with Cena," Meltzer writes. "If he’s willing, and can pass the physical, they could do a retirement match. Hogan hasn’t wrestled at a WrestleMania since 2003 and will be almost 61 at match time, so if he can’t do it this year, that should be it."
To many fans, Hogan vs. Cena is a dream match. To see two of the biggest babyface stars in wresting history face off in a singles bout at WrestleMania would be quite the spectacle—and likely a huge draw on pay-per-view.
No wonder Hogan is eager to do the match. It would be the ideal platform on which to end his legendary in-ring career. Certainly, it's rather depressing to think that his last-ever in-ring bout was in the underachieving TNA promotion.
The promo work between the pair would surely be great too. Cena's a terrific talker—when given the right material, of course—and, even at 61, Hogan is still one of the the most vibrant and charismatic personalities around.
However, Hogan's health is a major obstacle.
Even if he could pass a physical test, there remains doubt about how good he could be in the ring.
No one is expecting the veteran to go in there and start bumping around like Seth Rollins, nor would anyone be looking for the pair to deliver a classic, highly technical bout. But any potential Cena vs. Hogan match would have to meet an acceptable standard, especially if it's going to be a focal point of the card.
WWE has too much respect for Hogan and his legacy to allow him to go out there and possibly embarrass himself on such a major stage.
Vince McMahon and his bookers have a hard decision to make in the upcoming weeks and months. Cena vs. Hogan would be a great feud, but it may not be worth the risk, particularly if they don't think Hogan can deliver a decent match.

John Cena and Dean Ambrose crossed paths on the September 22 edition of Monday Night Raw.  Each man was out for revenge against Seth Rollins, who has been in an intense rivalry with Ambrose and essentially cost Cena the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions.
While Cena and Ambrose were on the same page during Raw and wanted nothing more than to get at Rollins, many fans are likely wondering how long this uneasy alliance will last.  Indeed, it could very well be that a feud between Ambrose and Cena is inevitable.
If Cena wants vengeance against Rollins, he must get in line behind Ambrose.
However, all may not be lost for Rollins.  The fact is Cena and Ambrose may appear to be sharing the same focus, but that may not last long.  Right now they are mere inches away from each other and all it may take is just a nudge in the right direction for them to eventually make contact.
The truth is that Ambrose is still working to earn his place as a main-event Superstar.  And he may eventually come to believe that Cena is standing in his way.
The truth is that Ambrose is already over, and working Cena could only help him.  A feud between them would not need to last long, as Rollins is still in the picture.  But the longer that Ambrose and Cenashare the same air, the bigger the chance that they will come to blows.
Cena vs. Ambrose is inevitable.  The only issue is how long it will be until it finally happens.
