It was announced by Lana on Monday night's edition of WWE Raw that Dolph Ziggler would be making his return to the company "sometime after" the upcoming SummerSlam event.
Ziggler is currently away filming the WWE Studios movie 6:42 along with Kane, having been written off following a storyline injury at the hands of Rusev.
It was previously reported by that Ziggler would be returning to action sometime next week. With this update, that no longer appears to be the case.

PWInsider has confirmed that Dolph Ziggler is indeed signed to a new WWE contract, we reported this a couple of weeks ago but nothing seemly was official until now.
Ziggler is “out of action indefinitely” as per WWE storyline so WWE  can send him to Vancouver this week to star in a WWE Studios thriller titled “6:42.”
Dolph’s character will be a cop named Ray Fitzpatrick, who has to overcome his past while dealing with a plot to blow up a child with a bomb strapped to their chest.
Filming is scheduled for four weeks, so we should see Ziggler back on our screens just before SummerSlam.

According to the fictional injury update on Dolph Ziggler is that he is "out indefinitely" following Rusev's attack on Raw.

This gives WWE room to bring Ziggler back on TV for a big comeback or keep him off TV, well, indefinitely, with Ziggler's contract status up in the air.

WWE's fictional medical update is Ziggler "is suffering from a severely bruised trachea" following Rusev's crutch shot to the throat/neck.

WWE says Ziggler "was released from the hospital Tuesday afternoon after being monitored overnight to make sure his windpipe did not close." WWE continued with details that Ziggler is "having issues talking and swallowing."

The WWE Network has offered a small amount of original content, but it's not enough for many people to pay the monthly fee to subscribe, even if they do get every pay-per-view included.
Legends House was funny to some degree and WWE has always been great at making documentaries about their Superstars, but there is still a major lack of new shows being introduced.
With everything WWE has at their disposal, there are a lot of different things they could add to their streaming service to entice more people to pick up a subscription.
The shows would have to be about wrestling in one form or another, but there are many different ways to feature the plethora of talent they have in their employ.
Dolph Ziggler hosted a very popular YouTube show on WWE's channel called WWE Download. It was basically a clone of shows but Ziggler brought his own brand of charisma to the concept.
Why WWE chose to end the show is a mystery, but it could find new life on the WWE Network as a full 30-minute weekly broadcast.
Ziggler would be the best candidate to host since he did such a good job the first time around, but he's not the only WWE Superstar with a sense of humor.
  1. WWE has had a Spanish language show on YouTube called WWE En Espanol for quite some time. It's hosted by Carlos Cabrera and Marcelo Rodriguez and it takes a look at what went on during the week on all of WWE's major shows.
Wrestling Roundup would be something similar, except it would be in English so the majority of WWE's fans could enjoy it.
Renee Young would be the best choice to host the show. She is knowledgeable, charismatic and clearly loves the sport. She could have a regular co-host or bring in different people each week to provide a new perspective.
  2. WWE Superstars are some of the best athletes in the world, but it takes more than lifting a few weights and eating right to get to that level.
How to Live Like a Superstar would be a lifestyle show about how the men and women of WWE live on a daily basis.
Each week could show how a different wrestler works out, what their diet consists of and how they live on the road without their families and comfy beds.
  3. already has something called Outthink the Fink where fans can test their knowledge against the brain of Howard Finkel, but it's never really been a game show-type event.
Wrestlers could square off against fans in a battle to see who truly knows the most about WWE and its history, or it could simply be fans competing against one another. With the amount of history in WWE, there are an endless number of categories and questions to fill up the program.
