The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Daniel Bryan is apparently being considered by WWE officials as a possible inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2016. This report was further mentioned by Bryan Alvarez on Monday's edition of "Wrestling Observer Live," when he stated that he had heard that Bryan may possibly be inducted this year. It was also stated that it may be possible that WWE saves a Daniel Bryan induction for another year, as the company may feel that Sting - this year's headliner - is big enough for 2016 and that the company could get more out of Bryan getting inducted another year.

Ring Of Honor (ROH) veteran recently spoke with the Pancakes & Powerslams podcast about his history with former WWE World Heavyweight Champion , as well as Bryan’s recent retirement. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.
On his 2005 match with Daniel Bryan in ROH:
“That was one of the best things working with Bryan. He could paint a picture really well, and know the next one before he was even done with the first one. We kind of had a vision and it played out the way we wanted it to. I was just nervous. That’s why you do it; to get those nerves, and to overcome them. That was the biggest feeling that I had, because I knew I was going for so long, and I knew I was in there with someone so good, I felt like I could keep up.”
On if the match was planned out ahead of time or if it was called live in the ring:
“Me and Bryan always wrestled a lot on field, so that was what we did. That was why that was such a pinnacle part of my career; to be in those situations, and to be led through them to hopefully, one day, be able to do the same thing for somebody else.”
On Daniel Bryan being forced to retire due to physical issues, such as concussions:
“Obviously just doing what we do, it may be something as simple as locking up and bumping heads to give him a concussion. So, I think [him retiring] is good. I think financially it’s the best place he could possibly be, I’m assuming, at this point. He’ll do alright for himself.”
On his most memorable moment with Daniel Bryan:
“At the end of every match that I had in my feud with him, basically. And beating him for the FIP title was a big accomplishment, because I really don’t think I beat him in Ring of Honor (laughs). Maybe once. I believe I did once.”
On why Daniel Bryan received a WWE opportunity ahead of so many other talented ROH performers:
“He just earned it. It was his time to go do what he needed to do.”

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Daniel Bryan has received clearance from yet another doctor outside of WWE to return to wrestling. The report states that Bryan recently underwent a number of evaluations with a neurology specialist at UCLA in order to determine whether or not he was fit to return to active competition, and Bryan successfully passed all of the tests. However, as previously reported, Dr. Joseph Maroon, WWE's lead physician, still has not officially medically cleared Bryan to return. As of this report, there is still no word on when this is expected to happen.

Daniel Bryan may finally find out the future of his WWE career this week, he is scheduled to visit Dr. Joseph Maroon in Pittsburgh, PA, Maroon is the head of the WWE Wellness testing program, according to PWInsider. Bryan will be hopeful that Maroon will take a second look at his case and clear him to return to the ring. Vince McMahon has been going back and forth on what to do with Bryan, if he is to be cleared there is a strong chance we will see him as a surprise entrant in the 30-man Royal Rumble match. Bryan has been cleared by his own personal Doctor but medical testing conducted by WWE last year indicated that they were not prepared to do the same. Bryan has made it clear that if he can't return to the ring for WWE then he would be open to wrestling outside of the company. Daniel Bryan will also be appearing at the Pittsburgh World Of Wheels show at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. He replaces an injured Seth Rollins.

WWE star Daniel Bryan spoke with Graham Caygill of The National newspaper in Abu Dhabi.
Below are the hightlights:
Bryan on Steve Austin being the cover star of WWE 2K16 rather than a current WWE wrestler: "It is interesting because I see it two ways. I see maybe people who don't watch it anymore, who were big fans in the Attitude Era, which was the most popular time in wrestling. It would appeal to people who may not be watching the current product, but would be interested in the video game. One of the things I think it shows is that we have not really created enough new stars, to where we put new stars on the front of the video game, so that should be the overall bigger concern. We need to not just rely on people from the past. There is almost this mentality these stars are bigger than the current stars, and they keep going with the mentality when the guys now are every bit as good as the guys from before, it is just they need to be given the platform."
On when he hopes to return to action: "I have no idea. I wish I could give you a solid answer. I feel great. I have been cleared by doctors. But getting the WWE to clear me has been a little bit sticky, given my concussion history. They are just looking out for my best interests. We are trying to get with more doctors to get me more support to get me back in the ring as soon as possible... It is very frustrating for me as the concussion in April had nothing to do with my neck injury. I have been wrestling for over 16 years now and to have just one major surgery is pretty good, and this has nothing to do with the neck, it is a concussion thing. It was frustrating timing wise as I had big plans on being Intercontinental champion and other stuff."
Who he wants to face when he returns to the ring: My number one dream match is Brock Lesnar, and I want that to be a WrestleMania match. I don't know if the WWE will ever let that happen, because they might be afraid he might legitimately hurt me pretty bad. But I would like to do a major pay-per-view match with Cesaro. I'd like to to do a major pay-per-view match with Seth Rollins. I'd love do a major pay-per-view match with Stardust. We have so many talented people on the roster that I'd love to have a match on pay per view or we have a story to work through together."
Did he ever think he would be a fixture on reality TV: "No, definitely not. Until me and Brie [Bella, Bryan's wife] moved in I did not even have a TV. It is like OK, I am on a reality TV show now. When Tough Enough was going on I considered that a reality TV show too, so I was on two reality shows on the same night as they both air on Tuesday nights in America so it is kind of crazy."

Kurt Angle recently took part in a Q&A on Facebook this week.
Below are the highlights:
On keeping a straight face when singing to Vince McMahon on TV: “It was difficult. Vince told us not to laugh until he yelled “cut”. We held it in long enough to get each one done. It was all improvisation. So much fun!”
On his father: “My father didn’t influence me into wrestling, my brothers did. They all wrestled so I was kind of forced into it, but my Dad was my #1 fan and supporter. He was at every single event I had until he passed when I was 16. He was always supportive, even when I didn’t do so well.”
On his bench press capabilities: “Most ever was 400. I’m not a strong upper body guy…legs and hips got me my GOLD, but I wasn’t weak either. Lol. I don’t bench press anymore, I do more toning and maintainence.”
On who he would want to retire against: “My retirement match would be Daniel Bryan. He’s so polished in the ring. I just don’t know if it’s possible. But I’d Love it!”
On if he wanted to face Undertaker at WM 22 and break the Streak instead of facing him at No Way Out: “Undertaker at Mania was only a thought that Undertaker came up with. I would have preferred him at Mania. Not to break the streak, but for the respect I have for him. At that point in his career, he didn’t have that “Mania Match” he always wanted. But he did after WM 22. Shawn Michaels, HHH. So I’m happy he got the mania matches he deserved.”

WWE officials were reportedly hopeful prior to Monday's WWE Raw that Daniel Bryan would be cleared to return to the ring to defend the Intercontinental Championship against King Barrett at this Sunday at the Payback pay-per-view however, Bryan's MRI results determined that there was no way he could get back into the ring any time soon, if ever again.
WWE officials are said to be frustrated as they want the best for Bryan but also want him working for the company as he is involved in a number of big projects for them such as his upcoming DVD and Book.
The mindset is now switching to how could they use Bryan in a non-wrestling position.
Bryan is still determined to do all he can to get back in the ring and some have wondered if he will get the surgery that he was reluctant to have at the end of last year.

Daniel Bryan returned on WWE Raw last night for the first time in a month to drop the WWE Intercontinental Title due to injury. Today he tweeted t he is "working as hard as I can to try to get back" in the ring.
"Flew home, picked up (Josie, his dog) and then headed straight to physical therapy. Working as hard as I can to try to get back. Meanwhile, Josie just wants a nap."

We noted earlier this week via PWInsider that Daniel Bryan reportedly suffered some sort of injury at the April 9th WWE live event in Dublin, Ireland. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that Bryan was hurt in the March 31st SmackDown match with Sheamus and was banged up going into the European tour. The April 9th injury likely just made things worse and caused Bryan to be sent home from the tour a few days later.
A company source noted to The Wrestling Observer that Bryan was expected to be out for five weeks so either way it looks like he will be missing the May 17th Payback pay-per-view. WWE has not officially said whether or not Bryan will be defending his Intercontinental Title against Bad News Barrett at Extreme Rules on Sunday but it doesn't look to be the case.

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that health-wise, WWE Intercontinental Champion Daniel Bryan is "not doing well."
The biggest issue is said to be dealing with the neck injuries that he sustained last year, which is causing Bryan to continue to be in rough shape. It's also the biggest reason why WWE has been protecting Bryan by putting him in Six-Man Tag Team Matches lately on SmackDown, as well as keeping him off of Raw for the past couple of weeks.

As noted, Daniel Bryan will now face Roman Reigns in the main event of WWE's Fast Lane pay-per-view with the winner facing Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31 for the WWE World Heavyweight Title. Original plans for Fast Lane had Roman Reigns defeating a top heel, possibly Big Show, and Bryan being used to put Bray Wyatt over to keep him strong for The Undertaker.

Regarding booking for Bryan, WWE wanted to put him into a feud with Sheamus for WrestleMania 31 but his opponent was switched to Dolph Ziggler after Bryan reportedly requested the change. It's possible that Bryan vs. Ziggler still happens.

For what it's worth, people handling the actual promotion of WrestleMania 31 were still under the impression that Reigns vs. Lesnar will be the main event as of this week and in the promotional material, Reigns is to be the most heavily promoted, followed by Lesnar and John Cena. It's worth adding that WWE has not included Sting in any of the WrestleMania promotional material and since he's all but confirmed for the event, his involvement will be a major selling point so new material should be released soon.

Absent WWE Star Returning to the Ring Tonight

According to, David Otunga, who hasn’t wrestled for WWE since the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, flew into Chattanooga, TN this afternoon and is booked for this weekend’s WWE house show events.

More on Daniel Bryan’s Return to the Ring

As noted earlier, Daniel Bryan will make his WWE ring return at next week’s Smackdown, which will be taped on Tuesday at the Baton Rouge River Center in Baton Rouge, LA.

Bryan has also been added to the post-Royal Rumble Raw and Smackdown tapings and will be working a full-time schedule heading into WrestleMania 31.

After capturing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 30 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, Daniel Bryan returns to New Orleans this Monday on Raw for the first time since that memorable week. To promote the event, Bryan spoke to The Times-Picayune, where he reiterated that current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar is his dream opponent.
"Brock Lesnar is also supposed to be on (Monday's) show," Bryan said. "And to me, that's still my championship. My dream match for WrestleMania this year is if Brock Lesnar keeps the title and I win the Royal Rumble, and I wrestle Brock Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania 31 for the WWE championship. That's the match I want. That's the match that I've been thinking about this entire time that I've been injured."

After undergoing neck surgery in May, nerve damage prevented him from regaining strength in his right arm. Then in August, Bryan was scheduled to have more surgery on his neck in an attempt to alleviate the nerve issues that had caused him to lose strength in his right arm. Just a few days before the surgery, the doctors advised against it, and cancelled the operation. The doctors told Bryan that he just needed to do extensive rehab on his arm, and he did for several months, but strength still wasn't returning to his arm. He then discovered a doctor based out of Denver, Colorado, Dr.Greg Roskopf, founder of Muscle Activation Techniques, and after two rehabilitation sessions, began seeing positive results.

"It was like, 'Wow. I'm actually getting better,'" Bryan said, noting the condition of his right arm has incrementally progressed. "At the beginning of December, some parts of my right arm were even stronger than my left, which is pretty incredible given how long the nerve had been damaged."

Bryan recently returned to the gym has been training kickboxing and jujitsu. After working in the ring at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida a few weeks ago, Bryan felt like he was ready to return to action.

"Functionally, I feel great. My movement is great. Overall, I feel good," he said. "I didn't have any hesitation (in the ring), there was nothing that I did before that I can't do now. Not only that, mentally I've been recharged. I'm going to be better than ever."

A Post By ShuBham Jinde

It's being reported that a select few within WWE management were informed about three weeks ago that Daniel Bryan had been cleared to return to action and would be competing at the Royal Rumble.
Regarding WWE's plans for Bryan at the Rumble, he is not expected to win the match at this point. While plans could always change, it's being reported that Roman Reigns is still the odds-on favorite to win the Rumble and go on to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 31.
